About Me

My name’s Rafal Cymerys.

I help companies build software that makes their customers' lives easier.

I believe that understanding the business and the users is the key to building great software products. Beautiful designs and reliable code are important, but they're tools rather than the goal.

I started this blog to share my experiences and thoughts on that.

If you wonder where to start reading, here's a few ideas:

  1. How I replaced my coworkers with slackbots. Nobody could tell the difference.

  2. A few hints on the language you and your software use when speaking to customers. Small thing, but gives great results when it comes to clarity and building trust.

  3. Errors happen, so make sure you know how to write good error messages that help your users deal with them.

  4. Before you build a feature, make sure it's worth the money and effort? Take a closer look at how Apple built the first iPhone and see how to build products that people need.

I publish a new post every two weeks. If you don't want to miss them, you can follow me on twitter or send me your e-mail address and I'll let you know once they're here.

If you need help with building software, I'll be more than happy to help.
